Public understanding and support of programs through education in technical/vocational agriculture

There is Liberia a need for expanded agricultural output. However, many literate Liberians, including some educators, still possess a blind prejudice against all forms of nonacademic education. The illiterate Liberians, ‘on the other hand’ do not understand the significance of scientific approaches to agricultural enterprise, nor have they been given opportunities to do so. Hence the need is great to undertake continuous programs to help most Liberians understand the reasoning behind the proposed programs in agriculture for persons both in and out of school who are interested in farming for non-farm agricultural occupations. The author outlines the kind of comprehensive program which he feels is needed to meet the problem, with proposals ranging from expanded media exposure to the creation of a Commission on Agricultural Education. Notes.

Abstract: There is Liberia a need for expanded agricultural output.
