The Middle Belt of Nigeria: the basis of its unity

The ‘Middle Belt’ is usually considered an area wihtin which the natural and human resources are inadequate to sustain a high level of economic achievement. It has been suggested that its unity might be based on population characteristics, the political structure of Northern Nigeria, and its economy.
